Finally ate
Well my pastel momma finally ate last night it took weeks after laying, it was like she had forgotten how she struck and missed several times and acted like she was afraid of the rat when it would walk up to her she would ball up. I could tell she wanted to eat but was intimidated by the rat and it was smaller than usual but she finally got it I hope this gets her eating like she used to.

Re: Finally ate
It took my female a few days after laying (her very first clutch and mine) to start eating again. I offered her a very small meal and 5 days later another small meal. I knew when she was hungry because when I opened her drawer her head would pop out of her hide and she would grab the rat immediately. Once she started eating again, I fed her every 5 days as I slowly increased the size of the rat until she was back eating small rats again. I have cut her back to small/med rats once every 7 days, and she is back to being her garbage disposal self again.

I have not had a problem yet with mine eating the day after they lay. A good soak and a nice tub cleaning to remove the egg scent and they are back on fed in no time.

Re: Finally ate
I washed the tub and water bowl really good and was told on hear by several people that it was unnecessary to bathe them.

Everyone has a different method. I don't scrub them with soap just a quick warm rinse in the sink and back in the tub they go.

Miles- I offered the Normal 2 days after she laid eggs. She ate 7 rats in two weeks before she shed. She is back on fire again after shedding. She is catching them before they even hit the tub. Can't blame her. She hasn't eaten since the end of October.

Re: Finally ate
She was a good eater. My pastel girl ate last time I offered.

Glad to hear she's back eating for you, Miles. I do a quick dunk with my girls in a tub of lukewarm water with a few drops of dish soap in it when I do the tub cleanout. Another detail that might help, even though you probably already did it, is to wipe her ceiling also, not just the inside of the tub.

Finally ate
While there isn't anything wrong with washing the tub and mom, in my opinion it isn't necessary. Simply because the majority of my girls are eating while they are maternally incubating, so the egg smell can't bother them too much.
