How to connect Thermostat to Heating Mat?

I have this heating mat: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00B99PGS2#productDetails

I have no idea how to connect a Thermostat to it though, as I can see no way of connecting it, as it looks like one complete connection

    Any advice would be appreciated

    1) Plug the heat mat into the thermostat
    2) Plug the thermostat into the wall

So I connect the plug to the heat mat to the thermostat, then the thermostat into the wall?

yes- per the description: "If installing externally to the base of a glass terrarium again ensure the thermostat sensor probe is beneath the substrate, in direct contact with the glass above the heat mat. This ensures direct control of the heat mat."

For my UTH, I have the sensor between the UTH and the glass externally.

Jhaskins..... I have mine attached below the tank, between the mat and glass as well. I've seen others do it differently but this seems safest. To ensure it doesn't get disrupted, we taped it at two points... At the edge of the mat and just up the side about an inch. This seems to stop any additional airflow as well, which can prevent accurate readings and control.

Seeing others attach it under the subterate inside the tank, I found myself wondering if I was doing this wrong as well. Temp is set at 91, the hydrofarm thermostat is my best purchase yet. Looking at foggers now to help with humidity.

OP: Good luck Hun, I was less stressed out bringing in a 7 week old puppy than I am with getting my Naginis tank at optimum temps etc.

I have a vivarium and the heat mat is actually attached to the bottom of the viv inside the enclosure. Also would the heat mat be affected if the Ball peed on it or something like that?

It's an electrical device. Moisture + Electrical appliance = Disaster

And I hope that is also on a thermostat to regulate it.

Yes, this is a potential problem. The UTH should be adhered to the outside of the enclosure.

I prefer to mount probes outside of the enclosure. If it's not stick down properly and gets knocked off the heating element, your thermostat is going to compensate by cranking up to full power which could result in a burn!
