Most reviews on the Sony are not of the NEX 3N the 3N is relatively new. Its similar to the NEX 5 just minus a few features that I don't want or need.

So far you have the knack of photography over me. You must be a natural LOL!
My mother in law and my grandma keep telling me I have an eye for photography. Just wait till I know how to use the potential of my camera! Lol. But really, I have just always loved taking pictures. I have tons of photo albums, and have had many different point and shoots. This is my first dslr. And I should have got one long ago...

    You do take awesome pics!

I've thought about a dslr but i feel like it wouldn't be worth it for me since i wouldn't know how to use it lol. Also the convenience of my phone always being in my pocket doesn't help.

    Thanks!

Put down your phone and get one! Look what kind of pictures you can take just in auto. And then when you see all the great pics you get, you will want to take more. :p

    Mike,

you would be prime for one of the Sony NEX cameras. VERY small mirrorless camera. Have a look at them and the size. Quality is similar to some DSLRs but obviously you can get DSLR cameras that are several $$.

Might be worth a look. I can PM you some of my basic shots or check the boa forum I have a few of my first ever shots there. I'm still in "idiot auto" mode too!

If i get a camera i'd want it to be bigger and chunkier. I use my phone but that sits easily in my hands and i have a case for it. If im going commando like doolittle to take pics, i'd need something i could get a firm grip on lol.

3skulls mentioned in another thread getting an older body but buying a newer lens, to save money. I'd have to look into that more too.

Its so much more convenient to take pics with the phone and just be able to share them right away lol.

Yes older body for cheap and then really sink $$ into a lens! Actually a great idea. Optics really can rule if you have a remotely decent sensor!

But I'm far from and expert LOL!

I think Doolittle has superior optics just by looking at our macro shots. I'll try to get a great one and see how it compares, but Canon has typically nice optics. I'm new to Sony. The true Pro lenses are really expensive but they are awesome!
