BP books?
I plan on producing my first clutch in 2014- though it's very possible that that will be pushed back a year, depending on if my fiancee and I decide to stay in the army. However, I'd love to start reading on:
1. The breeding process- how to induce breeding, steps to take, who should breed, etc.
2. Caring for eggs, and later infants- also some resources on, how do you take care of hatchlings? I know people don't set up whole tanks for them
3. Morphs- which traits are dominant, recessive, etc, popular morphs, etc
The whole shebang. Everything about everything a new herper should know on BP breeding. I know I can lurk on here or Google, but I do better with comprehensive knowledge all in one, easily navigated space- preferably in the form of one or more books. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Also- as a random fact, I weighed my female for the first time. Little under 2000g. Big girl!

Re: BP books?
I haven't breed mine yet, next year hopefully. I purchased the "Dr seward's breeding ball pythons"video. This is very informative. I feel that it could be even better. Its not that long and I feel like covering breeding balls should take a few hours at the least. This video covers the very basics in my opinion but it's the most informative I've found out there. I wish one of the big breeders would do a comprehensive DVD, that would be awesome. World of ball pythons is a website and hands down the best place to go on morph coverage. Hope this helps

Re: BP books?
Omg....The complete Ball Python by Kevin McCurley of NERD. That book hands down is the BEST most comprehensive book on BP breeding, care, and morphs. Although, to stay on top of the 1700+ morphs there are, you gotta just have the WOBs app on ur phone lol.

Re: BP books?
The Barker's book was not only the best I've ever read on ball pythons, but the best out there on snakes in general. The detail and dedication to every aspect of ball python care is the level of detail we should strive to achieve with all the species we keep.
The Kevin McCurly book is also a great one for basics, not just in care but in understanding a punnett square and genetics.
Happy to see that my two favorites were the first posted
Other books that are worth perusing for an alternate perspective and/or to round out your knowledge:
The european perspective on snake keeping - this was an eye opener for me when I first started working here at LLL. This book is kind of old, and translated from german, but it's a good read:
Ball Pythons: Habitat, Care, and Breeding
An excellent read on keeping your snakes in more than just the bare minimum of caging. For ball pythons, somewhat less relevant, but again this was an eye opener for alternate ways of housing reptiles. Why NOT naturalistic displays?
The Art of Keeping Snakes
For the serious keeper, naturally you need a book on illnesses.
Snake Diseases - Preventing and recognizing illness

Jen! I had no idea there was a traslation of the Broghammer I tried to read the german version but my german is not up to the task! I have not read the Mustschmann book but I'll add another I love along the same lines,
Doug Mader Reptile Medicine and Surgery My vet recommended it.
Rossi & Rossi What's Wrong with My Snake
Rodger Klingenburg Understanding Reptile Parasites
All three are very good medical based books.
