    My eggs are here... BUT..............

Now that I have eggs,,, my first clutch.... and they are all tucked away in their new bed for what feels like ETERNITY........... hahahaha.... I have a question.

What are some BAD signs to look for in my eggs. There are some spots.....I guess i just need to know what to look for or expect in the future..... and any danger signs...............

    Thanks

Bad signs generally include sunken in shells due to low humidity (although this is normal just prior to hatching) and mold. Mold will usually occur on eggs that are already dead, but it can start to grow on healthy eggs which shouldn't be a problem. You can remove the moldy egg if you can do it without damaging nearby eggs, otherwise just leave it there until the viable ones are done hatching. Spots and "windows" are normal on healthy eggs and shouldn't be a problem.

Also you can candle your eggs to be sure they are all fertile, because sometimes a good looking egg is not fertile at all, and will mold in first few weeks of incubation, so it's better to put them aside just in case .

How are you incubating them? Are they on the substrate? If you have them on the substrate and they get too wet and start shriveling/looking wet that may be too late to save them. I go substrateless so all I have to worry about is the temp.
