1000+grams to 826!?
I bought a male killer bee ball python around two months ago the guy at the show said he weighed around 1000 grams and was previously a breeder and show a picture of him locked up the night before, now I've had him since them close to two months and he still has not eaten and I've contacted multiple breeders on why and said he might just being in breeding mode and that only care if the weight loss seems drastic, now I weighed him today and he seemed to have lost a lot of weight down to 826 grams.. I keep him in a tubs in a rack with belly heat paper towels a water bowl and A hide I have other snakes who eat without hesitation what could be the problem with this one guy? I don't notice anything really wrong with him and when he's fed he ends up with no interest coiled up with the animal in there, I've offered different size prey and seems to not care for it, anyone help?

It sounds like classic stubborn ball. He'll eat when he's ready. That amount of weight loss sounds pretty consistent to me, but perhaps someone else should *weigh* in. (heheh)

1000g down to 826g is a lot more loss than I would be comfortable with. BUT did you weigh him when you got him home, or are you just going off what the breeder said? He could have been estimating, or the snake could have just eaten at that weight. Pics would help us make suggestions based on body condition.

I have some losing that much just by defecating.
The initial weight could have been wrong to start with or taken on full when now the new weight is taken on empty, etc.
The thing with weight loss is not really how much of a loss but more of a overall condition, looks and health is what I go by.
He was recently breeding probably is still in the mood as well and not eating would not be abnormal.
The only thing you can do is make sure his husbandry is optimum and wait it out.
During breeding season I keep my breeder male 1100 grams and under in 15 quarts tubs to ensure optimal security and feeding....something you might want to consider.

My guess is that the breeder was a bit off with what he said he weighed to begin with. I had a male not eat for 3-4 months and only lose about 40-50g.
