Maggots on eggs

I found some maggots on my steppe runner eggs in the incubator. Could this be from the vermeculite?

Nah, its probably from fruit flies. Vermiculite isnt the issue.

Hi,

If it was new vermiculite then no it should be sterile essentially.

Try and find a way of keeping flies out of the incubator if you can without causing problems.
