    Beginner T?

Okay, I want to convince my parents to let me get a tarantula, but first I need to get over my fear. How can I get over it? What's the best beginner T? One to handle once in a while, and that's not huge. And last but not least, how can I convince my parents?

Maybe you should just wait. If your parents don't want it, I doubt any amount of explanation will change their minds.

Catch and raise a wolf spider or 5.

Will help you with the fear.
Will give you an idea of what it's like to keep spiders.
If it does get out, it can join its buddies hiding all around the house :p
Might help on the parent front. Show them that you can care for one without escape.

General rule for Tarantulas. If your roommates don't agree with having one in the house.
    A) You need new roommates.
    B) You need a place of your own.
    C) You just have to wait until A or B happens.

Some of them have a very nasty bite and everyone in the house needs to understand them and respect them.

If they do agree. Look at Grammostola and Brachypelma. Lots to choose from and make some great first Ts with a lower price point.

    Good luck and be safe!!

Rich always gives the best advice I cant really top that. You can also find a pet store that has a person who digs tarantulas, and can let a docile one walk across your hand?
