Driving to work last night (9:30 PM on the 18th) was pretty bad, but getting home in the morning was no big deal. Kudos to MNDOT for getting the roads cleared pretty well overnight.

Also, carlson's pic there is one of those "funny because it's true" things for sure.

Lucky for some reason like 80% of the roads in duluth were still covered in snow, we got a foot last night. Driving home after work was awesome ha

Well, we haven't had a bad winter this year. A lot of snow though.

We're used to -40 most winters

We get just as cold, there a weird air current or something. I've seen -40 bunch of times -20s more often tho. I think -40s comes more with windchill being added on too here at least. Been snowboarding in -20s all time gets cold fast with wind chill.

We don't see -40 much here in the Twin Cities, but back when I used to live in the southwestern corner of MN (open, rolling prairie land), we'd see that at least a few times each winter. -20 was pretty commonplace, and the fact that it's mostly wide open space down there means that KILLER wind chill is a regular thing, as are some crazy snow drifts. One winter when I was a teenager, if there hadn't been a railing, you could have walked from the deck on the back of my parents' house (probably 9-10' up from the ground) directly onto a snow drift.

Yeah Duluth gets a few -40s the winters I've been here, I'm from the iron range. For some reason that area is the coldest in the state we'd get way cold all the time. The coldest recorded temp was taken in a town 20 miles from where I grew up. I was alive that day too haha it was stupidly cold.

My son has had two snow days this April and I've had two late calls to work as well as two early releases! We've had two, that is TWO, blizzards in the last week here in Colorado Springs. I'm ready for spring and warmer weather so that I can get my male lemonback already!
