While most shows do not allow people to bring in outside animals, and doing so isn't the best idea anyway, a show can be the perfect place to find a local breeder who may be willing to sex your snake away from the show. A lot of local breeders go to these shows, and even without the sexing question, it's the ideal way to make new friends that love snakes as much as you do.

I am on the west side of Iowa about 2 hours from Omaha. I attended the Nebraska Reptile show in Omaha over the weekend. ( I did not bring Watson though). It was my first show and I was awed and impressed. My husband just followed me from booth to booth as I oohed and awwed. I REALLY fell in love with a little spider girl though I thought I had ruled spiders out of my wish list. She was beautiful and I could not detect any wobble. In the end though I talked myself into waiting as I do not have anything set up yet for another snake and did not feel it would be fair to bring her home and not have things all ready for her. Believe me, it was hard to drive away without her. I DID discover though that the hubby is willing to go along with another snake!! After he saw all the morphs there he turned the corner so to say and is coming around !!!
I did get the cards of a couple of breeders not too far from me and I plan to contact them for advice and maybe see if they would be willing to sex Watson for me. All in all, the show was fantastic and I can not wait til the next one!! What an addiction!! Who knew?!?!
