    Skipped pre-lay shed?

Bubbles last shed about 6 weeks ago and has been off food since. She spent the next couple weeks wrapped around her bowl on the cool end looking lumpy, so I had her palpated by someone experienced (as I'm terrible at it apparently) who felt 4 marble sized follicles. Three weeks later she's now puffy and firm in the back end, and for the last 4 days or so been coiled on the warm end with her head in the middle (still lumpy), but no shed. Since she's a 2200g girl with only 4 potential eggs is it possible that she's skipped the pre-lay shed? She has no signs that she's going into shed, but she won't come out of the warm end either. So confused.

    Nope she hasn't skipped it.
If her follicles were the size of marbles(20mm) 3-4 weeks ago she still has a ways to go.
Just keep pairing her until you see an Ovy. Once you see it you'll realize how hard they are to miss.

Females don't always just stay on the cool side or bowl wrapping while they develop/build.
They will move back and forth adjusting their temp to promote the proper follicular growth.

I had the same sequence of behavior. A week or 2 of sitting on the hot side and she ovulated. I thought for sure it had already happened.

Keep checking every day and you'll catch her looking like she ate the neighbor's cat.

Yeah no way she skipped prelay, that's not possible
Depending on your hot spot temps she may not go directly over the hot side after ovy.

The bowl wrapping you saw was cooling, this coming shed would be the preov shed where you'll see her start to glow.

Thanks guys, I'm such a noob and she was freaking me out! I was afraid I missed the ovy since I've never seen it before. I'll just keep watching and waiting...

The only way that she could skip the pre-lay was if she'd never shed in her life, as any shed before she laid would technically b pre-lay! LOL

    Sorry, I had to.
