new member in Santa Cruz, looking for local feeder options....
Hi All,
I recently picked up a yearling ball python from Brian Gundy (who's great by the way). We live in Santa Cruz and are looking for local feeder suppliers. We are going to try to get him on a frozen feeder diet for convienience but aside from ordering a large quantity this is hard to find locally? Anyone nearby that has some sources? Or anyone who wants to split a rodent order? Petsmart has mice but Brian suggested keeping our ball on rats, which I don't think I'm going to find locally frozen. Suggestions?

Trop aquarium. They are on Mission now, and are moving to Seaside relatively soon. Great people there!

really? That's great news. I've known Trop Aquarium for years but haven't been there for a long time, and I haven't owned a snake in a long time. Do they have frozen or live or both? Good to know I've got another BP owner in the area. THanks!

I lived there for 6 years but have been in San Jo for the past year. Aaron and Brandon bought the store a few years back, so I don't know if you've been in since them. They moved from Almar to near the medical supply place on Mission, and now the land owner is leasing to a hospital, so they're in the process of relocating to the east side.
They breed their own rats so they always have what you need in that department and can explain how to pre-kill a rodent if needed, but I am pretty sure they have a good frozen supply too. If you're in the market for any jungle carpet pythons they have some gorgeous yearlings available and more eggs cooking! Be careful though, once you're on your good side you might just end up spending all your time there talking reptiles!
