    hi im new here

    Hi
I just adopted 2-5 year old male normal ball pythons. They are so funny. I just got them a week ago. And last night I was feeding my corn snakes (all 10 of them) and it was like I had two puppies begging at me. So I thawed out 2 med. Mice and boom that both ate like champs. When I had gotten them the store employee said that they had refused food for the 2 weeks that they had been there. They were offered med. Rats which they refused at the store. So I don't know if they were just that hungry or if they just prefered mice. I have rats for them just had mice right by me at the time. They seem to be adjusting well to thier tubs 105qt, uth on a thermostat (90 warm side and 80 ish cool side), 2 hides, large water dishs. I was told they were housed together all thier lives but since I have had corns. They got separate houses next to each other. They are super active at night always checking for a way out.

Oh and thier names are Ren and stimpy.

Hope I am doing this right for them since I have only had corn snakes

    Welcome to the forum!

That's awesome that they ate right away, sounds like you have a nice corn collection too! Balls are really great pets, enjoy them.

I guess my only real question is food size. They are both in the 990gram area I only weighted one on his way to his tub on day one. Aprox. 4 feet. And the guides I have looked at say 10% of thier body weight that's like a 90-100 gram rabbit. No way they could eat that. And some pages I have looked at say once every 2 weeks and others 1 x a week.

    Help please

    Re: hi im new here

I have some males near that size and offer a small rat every ten days. Maybe a smaller medium sometimes

    Welcome to the site!

I'm betting they didn't eat in the pet store because they were stressed. You putting them in their own tubs with propper heat/hides did the trick I'm sure

They could eat small to medium rats once a week, or if they are nice and fat/healthy you could switch to every 2 weeks. Every 2 weeks will keep their weight pretty stable.

Hi thanks everyone. Their tubs are kind of on the tall side rather than long.but they seem to be happy. So far every night they are on the move testing the lids and doing laps around the tanks. Took them out tonight and stimpy seems to be the "layed back and hang out one" Ren on the other hand is kind of jumpy but settled down quickly and wanted to explore and watch every thing. So different from my corns in personality so far. But they are fun. I am really enjoying them.
