Help! Thermal burn on my python

So almost 3 weeks ago I discovered that my newly adopted (from friends) ball python (about a year and a half old) had pushed his substrate away under his hide and was laying directly on the glass above the heating pad, for at least a day/night. He had just shed a few days prior to this discovery so when his belly was slightly pinkish I wasn't alarmed, so the uth may have been too warm for a few days, anyways his belly is burned pretty badly about 3/4th of him. Tere were a few scales that had blistered, most were just burned and reddish. Researching and talking to the people at the local reptile store I have been giving the snake iodine baths, diluted for about 15 minutes at least and then applying neosporin every night. Even a few drops of jojoba oil. The burn seems to be improving slowly but some of the scales on the belt are flaking off revealing some less than pretty skin, he is also shedding a ton of tiny scales everywhere else. His tank is warm enough and I'm trying to keep humidity as high as I can (fluctuating on average 65-70%) I've tried feedin him every week since the burn and he is not at all interested, but asides from that he seems just as active as before and seems very well tempered. Unfortunately i am unable to see a vet right now because I'm broke. I'm mostly concerned if this healing process seems normal and I'm just worrying too much or if I'm not worrying enough and there's something else I can be doing. I will try to post pictures. You need to turn your UTH off if you do not have a thermostat to regulate the temperatures. UThs easily reach temperatures of 110.

Oh I took the UTH out as soon as I found the burn and now have a heat lamp and the tank stays at about 82. It's the humidity I have a hard time regulating, before I was spraying the tank down but now I've replaced all the substrate with paper towels that I change daily. I'm conflicted about spraying the tank down as I don't want the paper towels to get wet and potentially create scale rot or something.

So sorry to hear that this happened! You said "tank" (not tub), so you are using an aquarium or some sort of glass enclosure, right? Try keeping a damp towel over most of the top of the tank, to let the air inside become more humid without allowing that sore belly to touch anything wet.
