recently lost my collection to hurricane sandy..11 total gone..just was about to breed for the first time..i started over and now have 1.0 pastel 1.0 pied 1.0 lesser and 0.1 high contrast albino het red axanthic...any good combos i can get right now and also future suggestions on purchases to get some nice affordable balls...thanks kel

get females, more females

female het pied or pied would make sense, or female enchi. a female pinstripe or spider would also fit in well. two or 3 females for one male should be the next goal others will know better how many females to add now before getting the next male, but i think... a lot.

it depends a lot into what direction you want to go then, you could go for an albino project or blue eye lucy project or pied project, or go for more codominant stuff. combos with pinstripe or spider would also fit in really nicely.

I am so sorry to hear that I lost 1/2 of my collection 2 years ago to a water problem when I moved into a new house, 14 dead. So I know how starting over can be so hard. If I were you I would maybe consider selling or trading the pastel and lesser males.....without females you don't need them and if you want to be back to success quick I would do the following. If you can get a morph het albino or even an albino male for the girl you have.....and then get another het albino girl that will give you 2 nice clutches. Get a het pied girl or 2 for your male pied. And pick up a nice double gene male (pastel yb, pastave, etc), etc) and a couple normal girls. That would be a really nice little breeding setup with a couple clutches from your recessive projects (albino and pied) and then your normal girls would throw you some nice babies from your double gene male.

Or you could scrap the albino male and your pied to your albino het red and go for het red double het pied/albino. <~~~~
