    Tub Advice (switching)

Hi everyone! I am currently looking into switching my ball python out of his glass tank. I am looking into tubs/racks. I prefer the tubs/racks because the overall health of my ball python is extremely important for me. Also they take up a lot less room! Now I am fairly new to this method, so I am unfamiliar with all the proper procedures, and the equipment that I will need to buy. I know this topic has been covered many times in the past, but I want to make sure everything is correct.

My house regularity stays at 75 degrees

    Tub Advice (switching)

75 degrees is a pretty good room temp, your snakes should do well in it. I would look into buying a small PVC rack from reptile basics, c serpents, or animal plastics. A 3 tub adult rack will run you $300, but is a perfect home for your snake. Plus, you can buy more!

I agree with this! I know AP has a long lead time but with Reptile basics, as long as you order a black (not white) rack, they will get there within the week. As for supplies, you just need a thermostat for the flexwatt (I recommend Herpstat but if you can't afford it, any that you can afford should be fine), your substrate (I recommend paper towels or newspaper), a temp gun (to double check temps on all levels), and that's it! You don't need fancy decorations or water bowls. I use dog bowls from walmart and I've never had an issue.

I figured I would just ask it here instead of making a new thread and I'm sure it'll help the OP as well. I just switched to rack as well (C Serpents) went with the 5 Tub Sub Adult rack (28qt.), but my question is how long til I switch to 41qt.?

This really depends on the size and feeding response of your animals. I have smaller females and males that will probably live out their lives in 32-qt. tubs, but my 2000+g girls are in 41qts. If anyone in a larger tub is a poor feeder for a reason other than breeding, I would downsize the enclosure.
