What do you guys think is fair....
Looking at my 1,110gram female black back "dinker", what do you guys think would be a fair price for her.....Her pix are here http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...uple-questions

Re: What do you guys think is fair....
I wouldn't pay more than probably $150-$175 for her. She's only 1100g and not a proven breeder. However, she's got a nice reduced pattern.

Yes. Genetic black backs (in my opinion) aren't a true morph. It's just a trait for a nice black line down the back. You can also have black backs that aren't genetic and are just random. It's not even on the WOBP list...so I generally don't give it much credit.
I guess I think it's a lot like a reduced pattern. Reduced pattern isn't really a true morph, but sometimes the lack of alien heads can be passed on to the offspring. Does that make sense?
You can try to sell her for more, but I just don't think you'll get that much. The only way I would pay any more for her is if she was larger and locking with a male. Then I might pay closer to $200.

I would pay up to 200 for her personally. Genetic black backs and genetic reduced patterns are amazing breeder girls to have. If she were above weight and/or proven, I might even go 250-300.
BUT, I tend to throw money at breeders for traits I like/want in an animal. So take my opinion with a grain of salt. Honestly, if you don't *have* to sell her, wait, prove her genetics out, and get closer to 250 for her after she produces for you. If she is actually a genetic black back, you could make some good money pairing any codom boy to her. People love GBB lessers, cinnis, enchi's, etc. Have some fun with her

A girl like her I'd give up to $200 for, no question. She's got a lot of potential in her. And I'm a sucker for a good black-back anyway. She's got a lot in common with the normal girl who made me my fires this year.

Because it would be you selling it, it's worth NOTHING
When you want to sell snakes value is not the only thing that matters if you are shady no one will buy them.

good job Deborah. I missed that thread. Two more names to ad to my blacklist. Supertiger retics and ilovevenom.
I change my initial assessment. Your snakes (supertiger retics) are worth nothing to me.
