Locking like bunnys but not very hungry.

I only have one pair this year. Male albino X Female 50% het albino

Male has not ate since 11/4/12......Female has not ate since 1/15/13

They have locked 8 times since 1/22/13

Is this normal? Has anyone else had this happen with their balls in the past? Or in the present?

    Thank you

    That's just their breeding mode.
I'd say its typical for males to go off feed during breeding season.
Females don't usually go off feed until they are closer to ovulation, but every female is different.
I have one female who stopped eating after she started glowing , and another female who seems to be eating more than ever since I've tired pairing her with a male.
I still attempt to feed them cause even if they won't eat there's someone else who will.

The females are probably better at retaining weight during the breeding season as its mostly going toward follicle/egg development. As for males as long as he was healthy at the start of breeding and doesn't loose any significant weight he should be fine.

some eat some don't, if she's young. you want to keep an eye on her weight. and keep offering her food. but offer her smaller meals than what she normally takes. good luck don

My female hadn't eaten since November but locked several times, now suddenly just in the past week she's eating like a pig. I'm going to be hopeful and assume it's because she's building some nice follicles.
