Thinking new cage
Well, ive had my ball python in a 20 gallon for a couple years now, she is getting bigger and i can not fit a bigger hide in the cage because it is not wide enough, i was wondering if you guys think that a 50 gallon cage is too big, she is around 3'5 to 4'0, and i was wondering what heatpad you guys recommend, i have zoo-med as of right now.

She probably doesn't need anything bigger than a 40-gal, but a 50-gal would be fine. The main thing to keep in mind with a tank that large is how you are going to maintain the proper temps and humidity with that large of a glass, screen-topped tank. If you are looking at something that big, I would look into PVC cages that are 3x2 on the floor space - slightly smaller and better for heating and humidity.

Give animal plastics a call and get one of their tanks. You can spend $100 on a glass tank or get a t8 for 150

If you are going to get a new enclosure, ditch the tank. A 50g tank is super tall and doesn't have a very big footprint. You might even still have problems fitting things in a 50g.
Animal plastics is a great route.

well, i already have the 50 gallon, it is my brothers and he was thinking about getting a ball python himself, was going to do a little swap with him to start him off with a 20 gallon, seeing as im low on money, i would love the animal plastics cage,

You could always turn the 50 gallon on its side....there is a sticky somewhere about doing something similar and adding in an acrylic "door" to help with the humidity
