    Orange belly x Orange belly= graphite 100%

    Does OBxOB always produce graphites(25%).

Worded another way are OB het graphite and yellow bellies het ivory.
are only some OB's able/not able to produce graphites?

will a ultra ivory be able to produce graphites or are there some that can't. I know it's kinda the same question.

    Love to hear your experiences.

Re: Orange belly x Orange belly= graphite 100%

last i heard ben still wasn't sure what made the graphite or ultra ivory. All he know is it came from his orange belly line.

I have seen normal looking ivorys that someone claimed were produced from orange belly x orange belly pairings tho, so my guess would be another gene was at play.

There is a lot of missing info on this morph. How many graphites have been produced. At Bens website he has a 2007 male OB ringer up for sale it's been replaced by a graphite. It's a neat male with a dot matrix ringer mark. Why has it taken so long to start a graphite program. I just reading between the lines and may and probably am off track. There just isn't many people working on this project. The monetary rewards aren't there?
Today I bought a ultra ivory. I didnt have a yellowbelly in my collection. He's a 2008 from a graphitexivory cross. I guess I'll find out. I've read that graphite is a super OB. well we'll see. I'll breed him to a lemonblast and a pastel next season and save a ggirls e in three long years ill know. If I he will I can breed him this year. I have a poss het pied (normal)that's ready now.

you need to talk to ben, hes the only one that can answer most of those questions. Let us know what he has to say if you get a hold of him. I've tired 3 times just to ask him about it and was told I would get a call back, never happened.

All it takes is for one of the breeders to be OB to possibly make a Ultra or Graphite. The first Graphite produced was from an OB x YB breeding. It's not quite understood how it works exactly, just that its coming from the OB lineage. I know non Ultra or Graphite Ivories have later bred and made Graphites.

I have produced OB's for a few years now and have a couple OB x OB pairs breeding this season. I am also shooting for OB Enchi, OB Spider,OB Lisen Blk Pastel and OB Blonde Bees.

I consider orangebellys like poss het for graphite. They are generally prettier than regular ybs especially as they mature. Some will produce graphites some will not. Best to grow your ivories up a bit as sometimes the graphite pattern takes awhile to show.

Some OB's carry het graphite some dont. Like mounds and almond joy. Maybe we should call hidden gene orange belly. :-)
