    Regulating everything.....

I have a UTH and a heat bulb ( to keep ambient up) plugged into the same thermostat. It is set at 90 and turns on and off periodicaly. The temps are measured using Accurite thermometer and are 87 - 90 on hot side and 84 - 80 cool side. My ball spends most of his time in hide on cool side or in hide in the middle. Only rarely do I see him in hide on the hot side. My question is: Is it okay to plug both heat sources into the same thermostat? Every once in a while I notice that the light is off and the temp is not up to the 90 degrees that it is set at. Later it will seem to be working fine. By the way, the heat bulb and the UTH are both on the hot side. He's been eating, shedding and growing nicely. Love this guy !!

Yes, it's fine to plug both heat sources into the same thermostat, because they are both controlling the same heat spot. If temps in the hot spot are not getting up to what you would like them to be, then you may need to adjust where the thermostat's sensor probe is located or simply increase the temperature that the thermostat is set at.
