Feeding video's- a small sample

h00blah's fancy video editing effects and music have me beat, but these offerings did not let me down none the less

I had a few leftovers I decided to offer up. I really wanted to get both Enchi's on video, but I was getting them used to handling today along with the Champagne because they're all so FIESTY!! Enchi Fire was not interested at all. He hissed at his offering after just striking at it 2-3 times, so we missed him feeding today. Enchi Pastel and Champagne did not disappoint

I threw in a few quick few of two other girls feeding. It's always a trip trying to offer a live meal and record by yourself without having to end up chasing a rat around the snake room!! We managed just fine.

How big are those tubs? They look too small for the bps imo.

6qt for the Enchi Pastel- he's only 150g.

The Champagne and the SuperPastel are in V-18 tubs (18" x 5" x 3.5")... plenty big enough for 600g. I move them to 41qt when they hit 900g- 1000g. The Pastel is 900g and that is her 3rd meal since I moved her a month ago. She refused 1st week in the larger tub.

The V-18's are hatchling tubs, theyre only like 8qt's. Too small for a 600g bp and way too small for a 900-1000gram snake imo.

EDIT: yea the enchi looks fine in that size tub for at least a couple hundred more grams.

Im not hating on your setup, you do whatever you want. Theyre your snakes, not mine lol.

Just curious... At what weight do you upgrade from the 6qt tub like the one that the enchis in?

I think they look fine...alot the stuff I was reading on here and from breeders was that most are fine in even a 6qt until they hit about 500 grams.

I like those racks, mind if I asked where you got them?

I will generally move out of 6qt to a V-18 at 450g- 500g. The V-18 may hold 8qts, but that is just because it's a low profile tub. 18" x 5" is plenty of a footprint for a 900g bp. I've done the same tub transition for 20+ bp's and it works great for my collection. I've got 2012's hatchlings that I purchased in Daytona and since then that are 500g- 600g+. I have a few 2010 and 2011 pickups that I have put 800+g on in that same time frame.

Check out Colin Weaver's site. He keeps bp's in 6qt tubs up to ~800g.

The racks are from C-Serpent. I have a 18 tub 6qt Hatchling rack, a 16 tub V-18 rack and three 10 tub V-70 racks. I need another hatchling rack and V-18 rack pretty soon.

Here is a 2012 Mojave at 655g (in shed) in the V-18 tub. Plenty of room to spare. I purchased him 9/19/12 at 166g and put him in the hatchling rack. I moved him to the V-18 on 12/21/12 at 488g. Looks like he's doing fine to me
