From my fairly limited personal experience, I might have to recommend a BCI. I have a female named Zoey and she's just an awesome snake. I wanna say it's very unlikely for a male BCI or either gender of Dumeril's to reach 7 feet or more. I hope this helps!

    I vote BCI!!!

They are awesome, seemingly more social then most BPs especially when purchased from a young age. They come in *awesome* color morphs and I love watching my juvinile salmon (aka Hypo) boa climb. Evanstar is right- you can't have just one and I have four more on the way!

I have both. I say there is only one obvious answer, especially given the curiosity towards both. Get one of each!

I like BCI's better. I havent heard about dums being picky eaters necessarily. I know that they like substrate to burrow into so they can ambush their prey.

I have been doing a butt ton of research and watching videos.

I am leaning towards a Dumerils soooo much!

I am going to see if anyone will have Dums for sale at the expo in Feb. I know there will be BCI there...usually is... But its somewhat hard to find a Dum in Canada.

You'll be very happy with a Dum. I adore my new baby and I've only had her a day! Even in Canada, you ought to be able to find one at a good expo. But as I said before, keep an open mind - you just never know what'll speak to you that day!
