Under feeding or Over feeding a baby bp??
My baby ball passed his meal from last Saturday on Tuesday. Since Wednesday night he's been what seems to be hunting or looking for food. So today I offered him another adult mouse. His feeding response was worse than before, he struck the glass upon seeing the mouse outside the tank just like last time. But this time he also struck it as I was lowering it by its tail into his tank and literally ripped it out of my hand to wrap it.. Should I feed him more, is he really that hungry? Or is he just enthusiastic about his food?

At his size I would say that mice aren't big enough and that it is time to bump it up to rats. My $0.02

The only sure way is to weigh your snake and feed 10 to 15% of its body weight

I was told not to feed him anything more than a little bigger than his thickest part, but the mouse was as wide as he is and it took him a good 10 minutes and the help of gravity to get down. I guess I'll be weighing him then.

yeah, it does seem like he should be eating a larger meal. If it helps, my 120g baby is already on medium adult mice.

2 times a week until they are close to adulthood won't hurt them a bit, especially if the snake is on mice.

^ Everyone has already given great answers. Weighing is the best way to know whether you are feeding accurately. That being said, I have a female who strikes like she's never eaten before every time--and would take a rat every day if I let her. Some of them ARE just very enthusiastic!
