    Hubby's new pet!

We got him at the Pomona show yesterday. I wanted a kingsnake, but my husband had been hinting he wants a bearded dragon, and I thought it would be nice to let him get one since he let me bring home a bunch of snakes.
He's a pretty little guy, but I am not a beardie fan. The little butthead bit me today too. Guess he thought my finger looked like a tasty morsel.

And my husband had to get this little harness for him too! He still needs "training" to get it on though.
Why keep a snake? Why keep any animal? Because you enjoy the animal, find something beautiful and fascinating about it, and it fits seamlessly into your lifestyle.

He's very pretty. I prefer snakes over beardies too. Beardies eat and poop a lot. They are lots of work, comparatively.

I told my husband it is HIS responsibility. We'll see how long that lasts!

It's kind of a leash and harness in one. Not terribly long, but it makes it easier to keep him from running off. He's mostly tame, but will have his moments of "Freedom!"

Sounds like a naughty little fellow.
At least he's very pretty though.

And, their poop is potent. I know, for a fact, that one little beardie poop can out stink 4 snake poops.

Ialso got mine a harness after one of his spontaneous moments of "freedom". It still takes a few minutes to get it on, but he is accepting it...

My husband found out both of these this week. His little guy has pooped, and quite potent! And my husband has been taking him out and putting him on his shoulder without the harness, and the other day he decided to take a try at freedom. Goofy little stink.
