I was wondering how some of these breeders get nice quality photos of their ball pythons. Do they use something like a photo tent?

Yeah, x2 light tents are the way to go. You have to be able to get enough light to a camera sensor in order to obtain a good crisp image. Your background can be adjusted as desired based on what you put in your tent, but the main thing is getting nice soft diffused light to hit your subject just right. In some cases you can use a back drop and strobe set up (my choice for larger snakes), but for hatchlings a light tent works wonders and are quite easy to make or cheap(ish) to buy.

I have a Canon 60D I use mostly for video. I will check into tents - I should try and find something that will fit my young BPs as well as my adult ones. Any suggestions on make/model? Thanks!

I would not bother buying a light tent waste of money given how easy they re to build. I would invest in a cheap flash instead, speed lights are much more efficient than continuous lighting.

Single light 1/80 F/40 hard to get that with a continuous light. This is unedited it is straight off the camera no photoshop at all.
