No, you've just been noticing the huge amount of low quality pastels that most people have now a days. It takes time and patience, plus slightly more money to find a high quality pastel which very few newer keepers do. It also takes selective breeding to produce more high quality pastels which very few people do also.
That's what you're seeing and that's why you think yours looks different when in fact yours looks good. If yours really is that light and yellow, and its brown-out line is that faded with no camera or editing tricks, then you just have yourself a very nice pastel there. One that looks the way a pastel should look into adulthood.
I wouldn't call it an amazing representation, but its definitely a very nice one, and something to hang on to for breeding to other morphs later on. I would.

Thank you! Yes, that is almost exactly how she looks. Just a bit brighter in person. Glad to know we got a nice one. And she will surely be bred once she is big enough!
