    Babies getting bigger.

So their about two weeks old now and their getting big haha and cute they walk around the big nest the mom made and crawl thru a paper towel tube. I still think its two boys and a girl and I think the girl is a Rex? Her hair is fluffier then the other and daddy has the same puffy type hair.

This is the one I think is the girl and a Rex. (Bellow)the other boy
Sorry pics are from the phone don't have a working camera. The boys are same collar as the dad and the girl is same as mom with dads fluffy hair.

if you grab them by the scruff, flip them over, it's really easy to tell which is male and which is female, especially as they are fuzzing up because the females 10 nipples will stand out.

Yes the one is a rex

Im *slowing* learning rat genetics. I think that is a rex bc the hair is sorta wavy or whatever you'd call that.

    Theyre cute, congrats!

EDIT: nm, didnt read Jerry's comment lol. Im learning though! Yay lol

You can also tell if its a rex by looking at the whiskers. Rex have curly whiskers. (Velveteen too)

Very cute bunch! Love baby ratties.

K ill try what you pointed out snakesrkewl and these three have been fun to watch grow their my first litter so trying to learn everything I can about them still. Is Rex a dominate gene then? And I hope the Rex is a girl she's been my favorite since they were pinks lol so if its a girl I'm keeping her as a breeding girl

Hmm so I think their all males I cant see nipples hope I'm wrong but if I'm not I'm still gonna keep the Rex as a breeding male but that means I still need 11 females! Ahh gonna have to take a trip up north I guess

    Re: Babies getting bigger.

The female has a smaller gap and nipples vs. the male who has no nipples and a larger gap between his genitals and anus.

Ya I think I have three boys I can't see nipples on any the only one that is questionable on the gap is the Rex with blue hood but if its a boy ill just keep him as a breeding male I have one space open for a guy
