how soon after shedding???

is it ok to pick up a snake. My boy just shed this morning and has made a complete mess of his tub. Is it ok to pick him up and clean his cage this soon after a shed? Thank you so much!

I usually pull mine out as soon as I notice the shed so I can clean up the moss/poop/urates/whatever happened in the tub during the shed. I also use this opportunity to get some updated pictures of my snakes.
