Switching from tank to tub NEED ADVICE

I've owned snakes for a few years and fell into the trap of wanting to have aesthetically pleasing enclosures for my animals. After trying countless tricks of keeping proper temps and humidity in my screen-top glass tanks I finally have up. I love animals and I believe that the point of owning a pet should be to first and foremost provide the best living environment possible for that animal... So I moved my boa into a custom cage enclosure that keeps in proper heat/humidity so well it amazes me, and I've decided to move my ball into a tub. I've done some research on this, but I still have some questions that I'd like answered before I go out and buy one:

Sterlite or Rubbermaid? Am I missing any other brands?

What dimensions should this tub be? (My ball is about 2 years old and 3 and 1/2 feet long and growing)

I've read that balls will feel a lot more secure in tubs and some people only have 1 hide in their tub... So should I have 2 hides in my tub on both the warm and cool sides??

Also, I only own 1 ball so I don't have a rack system in mind or anything if that nature. I'm on a 3 reptile limit at my patents house (when I move out I'm sure that will change lol). So if there's anything I need to know about only having 1 tub (like whether or not I should buy one with a non clear top...) please let me know!

I'm looking forward to your responses!

As far as brand, it doesn't matter. Whatever works for you. I just find whatever large clips will fit into the side of. I would at LEAST have one if not two hides. And if its a male a 32qt tub will be fine. If female you may want to step up to a 42 or so.

Does it need to be a long setup? Some of those tubs are only 7 or 8 inches high..

You will love tub set ups so easy to maintain!

I use tubs for 2 out of 3 of my bps.
I recommend the steralite. For your snake I would go with a 32 or 41q tub it can be see thru or opaque.
I dont have either of my tubs in a rack so I use at least 2 hides, and a water dish with paper towel as substrate.

I say use clear or opaque because its easier to monitor if there is too much humidity. (you can see condensation.) Also when they go to the bathroom you can sometimes tell.

Try to find a tub with a locking lid or if you cant you can buy some binder clips.

I have mine set up sitting in a book case. I have the heat mat on the shelf, then the thermostat probe taped to the middle of it with aluminum tape. Then I set my tub on top, super glued the thermometer probe on the bottom of the tub in the inside. Lay down paper towels, then place the hides and water bowels in.

    Easy as pie

Before you do anything make sure you pick up a wood burner or a sotering iron to melt holes into the side of the tub. Do about 10 each side and let the humidity stablize and add more holes if needed
