Transportation?
I live in Washington state and it gets really cold. how should I take my Ball python to the vet? Are there heated cages people use? I was just thinking of using a tub with air holes with a hide and heat pack in it. How do you take you snakes from location to location like a new house/apartment or the vet?

I live in northern mn and if I have to bring my snake anywhere I just put either one in a tub with holes maybe a hide and let my truck warm up and go. I'm normally only in the truck for an hr max with a snake so I just have a hot truck

If you were concerned with temperature over a long period of time, maybe place a tub with air holes inside of a cooler with some water bottles filled with warm (85 degree) water?

Re: Transportation?
I have the opposite problem! I live in southern Texas and it gets really hot in the summertime. I just make sure my car is cool before I bring the snake into the car. So for you, just run the heater for about 20 min or so until your car is pretty warm. If you don't want to waste gas that way, the cooler trick is a good one.

You don't really need to worry about external heat too much unless you're going a pretty long distance. Warm car and a tub have worked fine for me in the past, and I go from Anacortes to Bothell for snake vet visits. The warm water bottle idea is pretty easy too

I just did this not too long ago in northern Ohio. I actually made a dual shoe box kit with one of my empty shoe boxes and one of my daughters shoe boxes inside with a layer of crunched up newspaper between them. I placed hand heater pads from walmart next to the inner shoe box and then used a digital thermo probe so I could moniter the temps. It kept it around 84 where the snake was for the trip. I did notice a temp drop after a few minutes while sitting on top of my cold books so pre heating the car may help. Good luck and look forward to hearing what you do and how it worked.
