You can see the discolored scales at the top that look rough

Illness can take a lot out of an animal I would suggest not breeding this year at all and allow the snake to fully recover before adding breeding stresses to an already depressed and recovering immune system.

He's a great looking snake regardless. Can't wait to see his babies!

Re: Snake recently recovered from scale rot and looking to breed him this season

He is a great snake! And I also can't wait. Hehe. Thats why I am trying to keep him in top notch shape. He seems to be doing very well. I am just going to wait till he sheds so he has a complete outer skin before I put him in with any other snakes.

This snake shed and is eating again. But he is not very interested in the females at this point. I am trying to find a way to help him get interested. He is very beautiful. He was sold to me as a pastel butter poss het for genetic stripe and I think he is actually a super pastel. His colors are much more yellow then a regular pastel butter. I guess I will know when I get some of his hatchlings

I would give him at least 6 months to recover and get back on a regular eating schedule. If he was off feed when infected, he may go off feed again when introduced to the females. He needs as much nutrition as he can get right now in his recovery. He's very pretty and I know it's probably hard to not pair him up, but if he's been sick and not eating, he probably doesn't have good sperm anyway. You might get a lot of slugs...
