Rules/Regulations for Exotics Permits
So being new to the snake world, I remembered Delaware now has a new law about getting a permit for pretty much every exotic (except small fuzzy things, bearded dragons and a few other harmless things) which is $25 PER ANIMAL and renewed every 3 years. Is this a load of crap? I'm a vet tech and quite honestly I don't even get my dogs licensed through the state. Should I worry at all?....I can't see how anyone would come into my house and demand to see a permit. I may have him out in public as he gets older....I do programs for kids at the YMCA and at my animal hospital occasionally but rarely. Again, I can't see anyone saying anything to me.
So what do you guys do? I know all states are different but not sure what the consensus on this kind of thing is.
(On a side note Severus is doing great, getting more used to me and seems hungry. Feeding day tomorrow!)

What I think?
I think that every time someone does not respect the laws of their state regarding wild animals and they get caught it reflects on ALL of us and put ALL of us in jeopardy.
All it takes is a neighbor that knows what you have and that decide to get back at you for whatever other reasons.
If your state requires permits then whether you agree or not that’s what should be done.

Re: Rules/Regulations for Exotics Permits
As much as I hate the government enacting stupid laws and or forcing permits on us, I still would get the license/permit. Chances are you would never get caught, but all it takes is one time to cost you even more money and time. Sometimes the various government entities should worry about real threats to our society and enforcing true criminal laws. Sorry to get on my soapbox, but I really despise when the government abuses its "authority".
