    Possible breeding loan...what to do?

So, I have a female snow motley corn that I just have as a pet. She was bought as an adult but was never bred. I know a guy who wants to breed my corn with his albino striped cal king to make some albino jungle corns. I looked at some of those and thought they were awesome! The guy said we would split the clutch 50/50.

It isn't the actual breeding part that worries me. It is the hibernation. I know next to nothing about hibernating snakes but he was saying to keep the snake at 55 degrees F for 2-3 months?! See that worries me. How do you manage that? Do you HAVE to hibernate to breed?

This guy only lives half an hour away so I could easily check in on my girl... I don't know I guess I just wanted some opinions. What would you do?

Corn snakes have been managing it on their own for hundreds of years...

Clean enclosure, fresh water, and don't feed them for a couple/few weeks before dropping temps to assure that they are empty.

Is it really safe to drop the temps to 50-55? How would you do that? I was given the option of cooling my corn myself and do the pairing here, since I am more comfortable that way.

55 isnt an exact temp. Here in so cal when I use to do corns id shut off heat tape and keep the ac on and keep the room closes as much as possible. For the record I have bred corns without deopping temps...... I would be more concerned about putting a corn in w your friends kingsnake since kings are known snake eaters...... If timing is wrong you coul be looking at canabilism

I've read that you don't need to cool corns to breed but I'm not a breeder myself. I personally wouldn't go through with it since I'm not huge on hybrids, but if you do do it I say get the agreement in writing! You need a contract in case anything were to go south IMO.

Yeah I've been hesitant I just wanted to get some other opinions. I am going to officially turn down his offer.
