    first shed!

    I just got my first ball and im glad to say the first shed was a success my only question is on the very of the tail has a tiny piece of old skin. Should i try to take it off or wait till the next shed?

    You want to get that off so it doesn't cut off circulation to the tail and cause the tissue to die. Here's what I suggest you do: Take a washcloth and dampen it with warm water (not scalding, but pretty warm). Then place your snake on the washcloth and wrap it up like a burrito. Applying gentle pressure, allow your snake to wiggle through the washcloth. That should take off that piece of skin.

    A few weeks ago both of my new babies had their first shed. Both perfect one piece sheds, but the joy was short lived when I realized that both of them had left big long turds in the end of the shed. :-/
