But a bee male is not worth anything close to a Ivory female as an adult especially.
The het part is in question, making the snake worth $300 to $350 market value, if not less.

That's true. But he's not trading for an adult, so the value of the animal is what ever it is at the time of the trade, not potentional value after a bunch of if/and/but's.

Personally the female YB is way more valuable to me then a Bumble Bee male. Het hypo or not. Now, that's in terms of my collection. I think it really depends on which you'd rather have, whether or not one is technically worth more than the other.

Bingo! trade value is based on your collection and not what you can sell it for..

Do I think it is a fair trade? No I do not.

The OP hasnt responded yet so i guess ill just add my opinion:
No i would not do that trade. Is it a fair trade? Sure is, if both parties are happy with what they get. From a money standpoint is it a fair trade? No i dont think so. You have to treat the bee as just a bee since the "het hypo" isnt coming from a reputable breeder. (Not saying this guy is a bad person or anything). A male bee, even that size, isnt worth the same as a hatchling female ivory.

My thoughts exactly, though I wouldn't have put it as well.
For those citing bee prices: The personal value I would place on a bumblebee male hatchling if I had no other snakes is a far different thing from the value I would place on a breeder bee het hypo if I had a female hypo/het hypo something ready to go.
Of course, it all depends on how much I trust the "het hypo"..

Its an adult breeder bee het hypo and yes I have many projects that it would fit perfectly with. I do but they arent mine so I'm not going to post them, its not a bad injury just a little bite mark taken out of the lower lip. I was offered the trade so I'm giving it consideration plus I hatched out 2 female Ivories and am parting with one anyway.

I'm aware of the price of hatchling bees. Its an adult bee het hypo.

I think it would be a foolish move to trade a Ivory female for a bee het ghost even if the bee het ghost has paperwork...
Thanks, I was starting to lean towards this direction as well plus the injury to the lower lip, I believe I will be passing on this one.

This was my original thinking. Thanks for the input

Very valid point, to me the Ivory is valuable to me but a breeder bee het hypo would be a very valuable asset for some projects this year that would potentially have to wait another year or two. Decisions decisions, what to do. Thanks

Very good points here. The guy has a pretty good reputation on fauna and has some nice vids on youtube, he checks out for me and seems pretty upstanding and honest. However he didnt acquire the bee himself and didnt breed it himself so I guess I will have to just consider the trade as just a bee regardless. Thanks for the thoughts.

I’m in agreeance with Freakie_frog. A breeder 2, pos 3 gene male is more valuable/useful to me than a hatchling female. In the 2 to 3 (most often 3) years its going to take that female to breed, I can do more things with that breeder male. Not to mention that in 2 to 3 years that female is not going to be worth near as much then as she does now. By that I mean hatchling female Ivories will not be at the current prices. As a breeder in 2 or 3 years she will probably only be worth $800, if that.
