    Books

    Howdy folks!

I am new to the world of snake owning and I am doing all my research before I purchase a ball python and going to get all my items before I do so as well. I was wondering if there are any books out there that anyone would suggest for a new owner looking to learn all they can to make an informed decision on item purchases and snake purchase. Thank you for the help!

First, thank you for being responsible and educating yourself first. Don't be afraid to ask questions after. I did tons of research but yet as issues come up, seems some of the knowledge escapes!

I have heard many good things about "The Complete Ball Python" it's a bit on the expensive side, but I hear it's worth it.

    Re: Books

I always like to research before I get into such a commitment. That book is pricey but I will check it out. Thanks!

'Ball Pythons' by VPI is one of the best books around...

    http://vpi.com/store

it is a good price for what it is (a huge hardcover excellent researched book but two biologists) it isn't a bulk published book either.

The Ball Python by P de Vosjoli is descent and Ball pythons in captivity by mcCurley is good too. The ball python manual is a good one mixed authors (de Vosjoli is one) and I like the ebook by brandon cornett ultimate guide to ball python care (http://www.reptileknowledge.com/ballpythons/) is a great starting point.
