My ball doesn't like the red light? And odd winter behavior...
Since the temp has been starting to drop at night I have added the infrared bulb for heat at night. My ball generally used to come out at night and explore, but I've noticed since using the red light the past several weeks he's almost never out. This is my first ball experience, and I know it's all about temp and humidity, so I am working on figuring out how to stabilize both. But is it possible that he doesn't like the red light at night? Besides the non-light heat like a UTH, does anyone else have any suggestions to adding heat during the winter? Could he really dislike it?
Also, I've researched everything I can about bps, but can anyone give me a short summary of what a male bp's behavior is like during the cooler months? I know each can be different from the next, but just a general idea. It's something I haven't found a whole lot of information about.
Thank you all in advance!

Re: My ball doesn't like the red light? And odd winter behavior...
The heat light may just be drying out the air more, making him a little bit uncomfortable and unwilling to come out. In addition, there is anecdotal stories that perhaps reptiles can perceive/see red light, instead of it being invisible to them as what is commonly suggested, so he may just feel like it is too bright out for him to come out.
Try a ceramic heat emitter instead, and see if that doesn't fix the issue.
