Orange or Normal Ghost?????

I would say breed the orange ghost to the het orange ghost, then anything you get will be orange ghost or het for it neway, then I would breed something else to the ghost get all hets and next year breed one back.

I don't see why everyone is getting so bent out of shape about. The OP clearly has in his signature that he has a plain hypo and a orange hypo and even a het hypo. With all the types of ghosts out there, orange, butterscotch, peach, citrus, ect what else could normal hypo mean? Simple plain jane ghost. On a side not I agree that you should breed the orange ghost, that way you get hets, orange and normal ghosts.

I think the OP is referring to just a ghost, or a hypo, the normal plain old nothing special type. Thats most of what we have here in Germany, their just called ghost. Orange Ghost is a different line, looks different, have those here too, but their more money.

It takes the guy from Germany to clear up the PLAIN ENGLISH the guy from Mississippi is speaking...I knew what you meant right away. Basically, most miscellaneous hypos should be compatible with the "orange" hypo but there's no real way to tell for sure until you see what hatches. I have a "grey" hypo too and I just consider her to be "Hypo". I'm hoping whatever Hypo combo male I find and decide to breed to her when the time comes ends up being the kind she is. Bit of a roll of the dice. Keeps it interesting.

The color of hypos aren't always a line, it actually described the color when people breed for them. I read an article when I first got in the hobby basically summing up to you could breed a orange hypo to an orange hypo and get orange, yellow, butterscotch, and other colors. Orange hypos are hardly ever orange anymore, but now it just basically describes its from NERD's line. I wouldn't get bent out of shape over what it is called, just want to know if it is compatible with the common hypo, which 99% of the time, it is.

I probably shouldn't have said normal ghost when I started this thread. I should have just mentioned the two males as hypo and orange hypo. Sorry for the mis-wording.

It would be nice if the name change stuck with this project.
A ghost is technically an axanthic hypo or "true ghost" as it has been dubbed.
Hypo is the single gene and they come in many colors which has different breeders calling them butterscotch, orange, etc...
Talk about confusing the masses with the same genetic

Agreed. I think balls are they only ones with this problem. With being said I think true ghosts look bad ass. I plan on trying to make some in the future.
