Rep vs Thank
Anyone else think it's odd that rep and thanks are two diff things on here? I didn't even notice, at first till I saw some people had tons of thanks but their rep was low

Actually, I believe both contribute to rep now. Each thanks you get gives 1 rep point. Check your user CP on the left side of your page.

Each thanks = + 1 rep
Each positive rep = + 2 rep
Each negative rep = - (1 or 2 not sure) rep
It's a little weird but apparently works better than the old rep system that was used here.

I also believe that, how many rep points it gives you has something to do with the amount of rep person giving it has.

Thanks and reputation are now linked together helping new member gain a higher reputation level faster than before.
Now as far as points
Each thanks = 1 Point, each reputation point can be 1 point but they can be a lot more as well depending on the reputation level of the person giving the reputation points, the older the member and the highest the reputation the more points.

Thanks for the explanation Deborah!
I was wondering why I had seen my Rep jump by more than 1 or 2 points before.
Question though. Before the last site upgrade you could hoover over the thank you button on your own post and see exactly what your Rep was, but now that doesn't work and you just get the range when you hoover over your green bars.
Is there somewhere else you can look now to see your exact Rep points?
Definitely not a big deal, but it was kind of cool to see exactly where you are at.

It will be under User CP on the right just above all of your posts that were thanked.
