Substrate for tank?

I've had a corn snake for 4 years now and when my bf purchased him the corn was 4 years old and was in cedar chip bedding the first years when i got her i changed it right away to snake aspen bedding but i use coco husk and jungle bedding for my other snakes tanks, do you guys think that if i changed her bedding where she likes to burrow thru the aspen stuff that i shouldn't change to another type of bedding like jungle forset bark or coco husk ? it would be better if i only had to pay 40$ for a large bag of jungle bedding that would fill two tanks instead of paying 40$ for a bag for 2 tanks then having to pay for th bedding for the corn's tank which is 20$ plus the bedding i pay for my beardie and gecko cuz i ave small amounts of the reptile sand in the gecko and bearded dragon tank cuz they like to digg. an it would be alot cheaper. here in newfoundland reptile stuff isn't as cheap as up away cause its not a big here as reptile colloctors up away

Any of those are fine just never use cedar as it is toxic.

I like to use shredded aspen bedding or aspen sani-chips. I have found that my local farm coop store will order the shredded aspen for me and I get a 40 pound bag for 10 bucks. Pet store aspen will bankrupt you if you need very much.

I use coco husk for my corn snake I like the look of it and if you buy it in brick form it is cheaper (especially if it's bought at an expo I paid $6 for a 3 brick package at the NARBC at Tinley last weekend, otherwise it's usually $10 for a 3 brick package). It takes 2 bricks to cover the ground (around one inch) for a 75 gallon tank and around half a brick to do my 20 gallon long. Just an idea if you are wanting to save some money but don't mind doing a little work.
