Feeding new colombian tegu.
Hey I just got a colombian tegu Monday and I have been trying to keep from disturbing her too much. Right now she's hiding a lot, but I got to thinking about feeding. Should I wait till she comes out on her own to feed her, or remove her hide to see if she'll eat. I'm thinking the first since they're skiddish but looking for advice.
Thanks.

How old is your tegu? Hatchlings feed at least once daily, and even adults should be fed quite often.

It's just a baby. What I was asking was not how often, but since I just got it, should I try to go ahead and get it eat, or wait longer.

I got mine in May and it still hides more than anything,.I have since day three dug him out to feed him. the first couple of times he got super squirmy but I started bringing him into the bathroom for feed time, a good soak and to bond, and now even though I still digg him out (he comes out to bask when i'm at work), he's growing like a weed and has a great temperament.

Thanks GummiBear, that's more along the lines of what I was looking for.
