I love and respect all snakes/animals, this is probably why i am going into Veterinary Medicine. I love all of my animals like family because they are(if they have a name they become part of my family). I know they dont have feelings for me back and i am 100% ok with that. i enjoy walking into my reptile room every day and saying hi to each of my animals. They are domesticated to a point but not as much as a dog, they dont get excited when you come home, truthfully i think my snakes only enjoy sundays(feeding day).

I'm very attached to all of my snakes (even the newest of the new additions), and yes I would say that I love them. I'm definitely seeing myself with all the snakes I have right now (my little crestie too) years and years down the road.

I think everyone here will agree that snakes are beautiful, fascinating creatures.
I've had a few people say things such as "You know what they say about snakes in the bible right?"
Even if they are saying it jokingly it still rubs me the wrong way. Snakes lives should be respected and valued.
Not seen as (excuse my language) "damned creatures"

One of the many beefs that I have religion is how so many people take it to be the literal word of their "god" and try to make the the rest of the world live according to their biased and ignorant opinions.

There are specific snakes that I am VERY attached to and will NEVER go anywhere however the attachment is still not really comparable to the attachment that I have for my dogs.

Of course letting go and being able to detach myself is also something necessary since I sell some of my animals even those that I have raised for several years, I guess some animals fall in the hobby/business category while other fall in the pet category but either way they are still spoiled

When people bring that up i tell them God had to pick the coolest creature to tempt man with. Aka a serpent.

I love all mine!! I have 11 and each one is dear to me. There is such a amazing moment when a snake stops being defensive and relaxes. I have a few that arrived timid and would ball up almost immediately but gradually became less and less likely now to the point they never do with me. It is quite special especially as it is counter instinct. It isn't love but they no longer see me as a threat either.
