    Best and cheapest homes?!

What's the best and cheapest set up for a ball python? Including EVERYTHING needed! My ball python is getting to big for a 10 gallon tank so I need to move him to something else. Hes about 3.5 feet and estimated at 500 grams (not sure). Any feedback is good feedback, thanks.

    Re: Best and cheapest homes?!

a 32qt tub with an UTH heater with a thermostat. The tub is probably $5-$6 at Walmart or Target (just make sure to get some binder clips or a luggage strap so he can't get out). The UTH is probably going to be $20-$25 depending on where you get it. You MUST have an thermostat. For a cheap budget, purchase this one: http://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-MTPR...arm+thermostat For hides, I just use whatever I find around my house. Butter containers (the big ones), ice cream cartons, shoe boxes, etc. work really well. Just make sure it's small enough so it looks snug when he's in the hide. They like to feel secure. For a water bowl, you can use just about anything. I use dog food bowls.
    TOTAL COST: $50ish

Now, if you are looking for a tank, try something like this: http://www.animalplastics.com/terrestrial/T8/T8.htm You can have them add the belly heat. You'll need to also make sure you have a thermostat. That hydrofarm works fine for that too. Again, the hides and water dishes can be homemade
TOTAL COST: $180 (not including shipping)

If you want to go the fishtank route, you'll need a 30gal or 40gal (if he's on the small side, a 30gal breeder tank) with a lid and cage clips. Zilla has a critter cage 40 gal breeder tank (I have one and I love it) with a locking lid http://www.petsmart.com/product/inde...ductId=4070848 You'll still need an UTH heater and thermostat. Again, the hides and water dishes can be homemade
    TOTAL COST:$155
