Mold On Egg
well as some of you know i have a boob egg with a really big nipple lol. and there is mold on the nipple part of the egg. im not worries about the egg it self as the mold does not go to the good part of the egg. but my questions is when the egg pips or something and sometimes the baby decides to stay in for a few days can the mold being so close and all start to grow inside the egg?

Yeah the mold does put the baby at risk(I am almost positive) and can kill the baby. If it gets bacteria into the fluid after pip it can get the baby sick and yeah... no bueno.
But you can clean the egg off now. And keep it off you should be fine

I painted a little liquid bandaid over the moldy sections of two eggs last month, and it did a pretty good job as both an antiseptic and a containment. I had to do it again 20 days later, but both eggs hatched out healthy.
What day is this clutch at?

Re: Mold On Egg
I think that would have to be some monster mold to grow enough in 2-3 days to kill a hatchling (aka, I doubt it). Just clean the mold off with a Q-tip when you see it, and/or use the liquid Band-aid trick, and let them pip on their own (to give the monster mold as little time as possible to invade the egg white).

LadyOhh gets the credit, I don't know where she learned the trick, but I learned it from her.

Yeah, it's in the first aid section. They use different ingredients in different brands---make sure you pick one that DOES NOT have pain killer (analgesics) in it.

Mold on a healthy egg will do no damage. Egg on an egg that is going to die anyways, will kill the egg quicker.
Just wipe it off with a wet paper towel.
