    Wondering what this is?

I'm wondering if this guy really is a Pastel or possibly something else. I'm just double checking because of the hues, or rather lack of bright yellows. Thanks for any help! ~Scott

No joke that is a fabulous young adult pastel. Everything about it is what I look for in pastels, the color and blushing is incredible.

Pastels, particularly adults, generally don't come in "bright yellows", and the ones you see that way are photographed very young and under full spectrum fluorescent lighting. Photographing under incandescents can also show more bright neon yellow than there really is. You will find more of those yellow hues in certain combos, but even then a true YELLOW hue in a ball python usually only comes from albinos and albino combos.

I generally recommend avoiding using a pastel male as a breeder, since they are cheap and easy to come by, however your guy has a lot of potential to add to any project by the simple virtue of his polygenetic beauty.

    Re: Wondering what this is?

Thanks for letting me know, I do appreciate the feedback. I actually got him, a 2000 gram female normal, and a 40 gal. breeder tank for $100. It was really a good deal all around.
