Cool little lizard new to the market as of this year as far as I know. Can't find a lot on the net about them. Called a stepped runner (Eremias arguta). Cute little things kind of reminds me of a mini monitor. The are pretty calm for about 30 seconds then look out. The are fast little buggers. Not aggressive at all but they bolt at a drop of a hat.
She got those so I grabbed a baby boy blizzard gecko.

He's 14 grams now so hopefully he will be big enough to breed my girl blizzard (Sassy) next season.

Hmmm the links worked fine for me. I don't know how to upload photos straight to the forum so I post links to the pics in my photobucket.

Don't know if it matters, but I am trying to view via tapatalk. There are no links, just broken picture icons. I randomly have pictures that don't appear, maybe its a tapatalk thing....

Reptiles Magazine did a feature about the Steppe Runner a couple of months ago. My local herp shop here in Gainesville has had a couple of them. They seem like pretty cool little lizards.

If you're using photobucket, putting a picture here is easy-peasy!! Just copy and paste the img code into your message. If you post the link itself, then it'll appear as a broken image code when viewed with tapatalk or from a mobile device.
Steppe Runners are cool lizards! They are heavier bodied than you'd think for such a fast little critter. How are their personalities? Do they handle well? Nice gecko too...

Re: look what the wife dragged home. lol
They are still settling in so haven't handled them much. However they seem very flighty once you get shops of them they do settle down for a minute or two. But one sudden movement or loud noise and they bolt. Pretty confident that with enough handling they will settle down. I don't think they are much jumpier than a Leo hatchling just a whole life fastwr. Lol. They smaller one is calmer than the bigger. As for names nothing offical so far but the big one I've been calling while-E because of his tendencies to run into the glass at full throttle and flying leaps off of his basking log. The other I've been calling beep beep cuz she will be flying along make a sudden stop and take off again. It's like watching a road runner episode. Lol they seem the most active at mid day and again early evening. I got mine at a pet supply plus here in Ohio but I've seen a couple advertised on kingsnake.com idk if they ship to canada. They are a blast to watch. And man can they dig. Can't wait to see some variations in color and pattern.
