Last three meals
The last 3 feeding my year old ball has not struck. He sniffs around the rat then drags it into his hide. My question is has anyone seen this before and if for some reason he stops eating f/t can he ever eat live again?

I'm confused about how he is dragging it to his hide but not striking it. Is he just picking it up with his mouth Have you tried leaving him completely alone after you feed him, leaving the room for a couple hours at least?

Does he drag it into his hide and eat it?

Yea about 5 weeks ago he didn't take it off tongs so I left it in there. About 10 min later I herd him strike and wrap it up. Then the next 3 weeks I had to lay it in the cage and could hear him strike and coil. But tonight he just sniffed it all around and never struck just opened his mouth and took it into his hide. I waited about an hour and gently checked and no rat. I usually feed him around 10 but tonite my son wanted to see so it was about 7.

Not a big deal. A few of mine won't eat from the tongs. If they eat they eat!

Re: Last three meals
My girl grabs off the tongs and starts eating. She was eating live before I got her and now never coils. She strikes and then chows down. I don't see a problem with it as long as he is eating.

A couple of mine just casually tote their supper into their hides and chow down.
As long as they're eating, I don't care how weird they do it.

This about sums it up. If your snake is eating, don't worry about it.
