Please comment on quality of this bee please...

I just won this little guy on auction for $250.
I would love to hear everyone's opinion on his quality and what everyone thinks of him...
In my opinion he is adorable, but I like bees, he is not the cleanest or whitest bee I've seen but I dont think he is horrible quality either, for some reason all the exceptional bees i find and want to buy are females .

I will give him a solid 7 out of 10. He is a very nice yellow at the moment but he does have some things I'm not such a big fan of. He seems a bit dirty for how young he is, also he has some dots in his pattern and he's not very high white. But for 250 he's def a cutie! Good luck with him, and if you like him then he is a 10/10.

I have to disagree with him being dirty.
His dorsal is clean and will be more dynamic as an adult and a high yellow bee to a high white bee is preference more than quality. Much like high white to low white pied.
The specalling on his sides will give some nice definition to where the whites would be.

Personally I'd give this guy a 7-8 as far as clean yellow bees go.

But as high white AND clean,
    I'd give him a 5.

And if I had him and was lucky enough to score him for 250,
    I'd give him a 10*.

    Congrats!

I think he looks great. Usually on low quality bees the yellow is dull and almost white. This guy is glowing yellow. He is smoking.

I find especially with pastels and morphs with pastel in them, that it's easy to adjust the light settings on a camera and make a decent animal look amazing. I'm not saying that that's what the seller did, it's just hard to tell the true colors without seeing it in person. This is the type of bee I hope to find someday. This is not my pic, it's just something I came across on my google travels.

That is probly a 9/10 for me. It still has some dots which is why it isn't a 10. But the yellow is so clean and light, so when it browns out some yellow will stay and not turn all brown.

The OP's new bee is awesome, just not one that I would pic personally.

I was wondering the difference between the bright yellow and the washed out whitish looking ones. Which ones were the ones that browned out more...I jst used the "pastel rule" and looked for minimal dark dorsal flecking... I am a fan of bright yellow and dark black (spots dont matter to me) and minimal speckling!
Thank you everyone! He is gonna be a great addition to my collection!

I have asked for more pictures under different lighting as well just to make sure theres nothing fishy going on.

I think he looks great! The yellow is very bright and is clean in the dorsal area. He may not be a high white but his brightness scores him about an 8 in my book. There is some brown starting to come in a little bit on his sides but thats pretty much all I find thats truly "undesirable". For 250 he is a score.
