Day 50 I think I may have to.

Sunday is day 50 for my saffy's clutch

But they haven't dimpled.
They are still active and look great.
But no dimple? Humidity is over 92%
And they've been at 89-90 the entire time...

Its killing me to make sure they're OK.
I know they are but.. ya know!?
Should I cut on day 52 or wait till 55 and hope for dimple-age?
Or should I just wait and let them be?

Its my most anticipated clutch ever!

(Well its my second clutch ever but I have always wanted a BEL)

Mine usually start to dimple between 37-40 days, but who knows! I only cut my eggs if I think something may be wrong. Even then, I wait til around day 55.

So needless to say, if they were my eggs, I would wait.

Just be patient. You don't want to risk anything by rushing things.

I know I need to be patient.
OK. I'll give them till 55 and on 56 if no dimples,
I'm going in.

Would you still advise me not too?
I'm so torn!

I just had the same "problem" with my first clutch. They went full term and never dimpled even a bit. The babies pipped on day 58 and then I cut the rest of the clutch.

I have clutches in my incubator right now that have not dimpled beside clutches that have dimpled.
Not all clutches dimple.
It's no indication of either good or bad eggs.
Just different.
Incubating at 88-89 degrees should have pippers around 54-55 days.

Just say noooo to day 50 cutting if they aren't dimpled in especially...

My clutch this year started pipping out on Day 51, which I thought was super early - but they are nice big babies and everything seems fine!

I would just let them go; sometimes my eggs don't dimple and before you know it a little head is popping out anyways.

Wow, eggs with no dimpling?? Weird! I've never had that happen. But I haven't hatched that many clutches of BPs, that's for sure.

Either way, whatever you decide to do good luck with your babies, and be sure to post photos when they have emerged!

I actually prefer it when the eggs don't dimple--they usually hatch out big, healthy, robust babies. I've had some losses this year from clutches that sank too early and left the hatchlings without enough room to develop, and I just couldn't get them to plump back up. Bad year for that.
